I think the countryside is the best place to spend the summer holidays.
This year I went to the village by car.It took me ten minutes to get there.
My granny lives in the village of Duliby not far from the town of Stryi.
My granny lives in the house in the centre of the village.It is a two-storeyed detached house.This house is new and nice.It has seven rooms a kitchen a bathroom and a hall.
There is a nice orchard behind the house.You can see a lot of apple trees there.Behind the house there is a large vegetable garden where she grows potatoes cucumbers cabbages onions and carrots.In summer I liked to help my granny in the vegetables garden.In the yard there is a kennel.My granny has a dog called Baron.I weede the vegetables and watered them.
My granny has a cow some hens goat a horse and a calf.I like to play with it.My granny has a garage.It is under the house.

IN TOWN
I did not go to the camp to the sea or to the country on my summer vacations.I just stayed at home in town with my friends and family.My vacations in town were not so interesting but my friens and I made a plan what to play in summer and what to do.
When school was over and summer vacations began I made some resolutions or a plan for my vacations.Here they are:
1.To play football and voleyball.
2.To help my mother about the house.
3.To teach my brother to cound and read.
4.To learn to cook meals.
I helped my parents about the house every day I cleaned the rooms and washed up.
On fine sunny days I went to the river.My friends and I played active outdoor games all day long.
When the weather was rainy I read books recommended by the teachers and watched films on TV.My task was to look after my little brother Nazar and to teach him to read and write.My brother is six years old.In September he will become a pupil.When my summer vfcation came to the end I looked at the l list of my resolutions and I realised that I did all of them.

My Living-Room The house has all modern conveniences: running cold and hot water, electricity, gas, central heating and a telephone. When you come to visit us you enter a small cosy hall. There is a hall-stand for hats, coats and umbrellas in the corner and a large mirror on the wall in the hall. And now let's have a look at my living-room. By the way, it is the largest room in the house. The walls of my room are painted light green. There are two large windows. The curtains on the windows match the walls. There is a large rug on the floor. On the right side of the room there is a new wall unit consisting of a bookcase full of interesting books, two sideboards and a wardrobe. A colour TV-set, a stereo system with two speakers and a video cassette recorder are on the shelves of the wall unit. You can also see a sofa with two cushions on it in my living-room. There is a nice picture on the wall above the sofa. The members of my family like to spend their free time in my living-room. My House I live in the town of Stryi. As a rule I have a plate of soup and a glass of juice or a cup of tea for dinner. After dinner I may have a little rest. When the weather is bad I stay at home and watch TV. But when the weather is fine I go out into the yard and play with my friends. At 5 o'clockI come back home and do my homework. It takes me 2 or 3 hours to do it. After that I play computer games. My mother is at home and I seldom help her about the house. Sometimes I water the flowers and clean my room. My mum always washes the dishes, vacuums the rugs, dusts the furniture, sweeps and wipes the floor. In the evening we have supper. Then I get my things ready for school. At 10 o'clock I brush my teeth, say goodnight to my parents and I go to bed.
At School My school day always starts at half past eight. I go to school five days a week because I don't have lessons on Saturday. I have six or seven lessons a day. After the third and the fourth lessons I have long breaks and I go to the canteen to have lunch there. at the Gymnasium I learn a lot of subjects: Ukrainian, English, Ukrainian and Word Literature, History of Ukrainian, Mathematics and some others. I like Music and Singing, Manual Work, Drawing and Design, Computer Studies. At the Gymnasium German and French are taught too. I have Ukraine four times a week. At there lessons I do exercises, learn grammar rules, write dictations and compositions. I like the lessons because they are interesting. History lessons are interesting too.At these lessons I learn the history of the country I work hard at Maths, I do sums and problems. At other lessons I learn how to draw, paint and sing.I like Physical Education because I am fond of playing different games, running and jumping. But my favourite subject is English. I like the English lessons best of all. At the lessons I write a test. learn poems and vocabulary, retell a text and do exercises. I also do a lot of grammar exercises and practise pronunciation. My lessons are over at 2 or 3 o'clock and I am happy to go home. In the Morning Let me introduce myself. My name is Yulia Safiyanyk. I am eleven. I am a pupil. I'd like to tell you about my typical day. My daily routine is very busy. I usually wake up at 6.50 a.m. To tell the truth, I am not an early riser, so I stay in bed for some time and then get up. I begin my day with a prayer. After that I open the window and make the bed. I don't do my morning exercises. Then I go to the bathroom to wash myself. I wash my face and hands with soap and cold water. I brush my teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste. I don't take a shower in the morning because I have no time. After washing I dry my face and hands on a towel and brush my hair. After that I go back to my room and dress. I put on a sweater, tights and my school uniform. I usually have breakfast at half past seven. I have some cereal, a cup of tea and bread and butter for breakfast. To tell the truth, I don't like cereal but my mother says it's good for me to eat it or to drink a glass of milk for breakfast. After breakfast I put on my jacket, my hat and boots, kiss my mother, take my schoolbag and leave for school. I go out of the house at ten to eight a.m. I often go by car in the morning. It takes me 10 minutes to get to school.

I'd like to tell you about my pet. I have got a cat called Tomyk. It is small and funny. It has got a small head and two big brown eyes.It has got a small muzzle too. Its ears are brown. Tomyk has got four short legs and long fluffy fur. The cat has got a small fluffy tail. I like my cat very much.
